LEARN MOREWe can help you launch them into recovery and back into life
They'll quickly realize why, how and how fast they'll feel better than they ever could from all the work and trouble of drinking and drugging.
It's SO much better than the alternative! Society says "wait until it's really bad." Starting Friendhelp at the first sign of disconnection is far better.
What's in it for you?
Imagine no longer worrying every time they go out, or about when they come back.
Imagine sleeping better at night and finally having some peace.
You'll feel great knowing for sure you've done the right thing!
You keep asking: why won’t they stop?
They may lie, steal, make promises, and then fall back into the same pattern again.
To you, it can feel confusing, heartbreaking, and exhausting.
The truth is, they often do not fully understand what is happening to them — and that is why willpower alone rarely changes the outcome.
You have been carrying this for too long
If you feel worn down, scared, or stuck, you are not overreacting. Living close to addiction takes a real toll.
Friendhelp understands the condition from the inside
Our guidance is built on lived recovery experience, not theory alone. We understand the patterns, the resistance, and the first steps that can help recovery begin.
A path for both of you
The Flagship Series guides both you and the person you care about through the process separately, so each of you can move forward with more clarity and less conflict.
If it feels safer, we can even send it anonymously through Friendhelp instead of from you.
The Friendhelp Series meets them wherever they are in the recovery journey
Whether they feel like they’ve heard it all before or they’re just beginning, there is still a next step that can help.
We start at the beginning without stigma, labels, or unnecessary pressure.
That’s how Friendhelp helps bridge the gaps — so both of you can move forward with more clarity and confidence.
Learn moreA gentler first step into recovery
Many recovery approaches ask someone to go from silence to public speaking almost immediately.
For many people, that feels overwhelming — and it can become one more reason to shut down or resist help.
Friendhelp starts differently
Our flagship method does not force your loved one into public sharing right away.
Instead, it offers a calmer, more private path that helps them begin where they are — with less fear, less pressure, and more room to take the next step.
Learn moreYour family's privacy stays intact
Friendhelp is not one-on-one, live coaching.
That means your family’s personal business stays more protected, while your loved one can begin recovery in a calmer, less exposed way.
A private, on-demand experience
We’re more like Netflix than live coaching.
You and your loved one can view the same guidance separately — on your own schedule, at your own pace, and from your own location.
Learn moreMeet Patrick, Founder of Friendhelp Inc.
I’m a father, a grandfather, and the husband of an acute leukemia bone marrow transplant survivor.
My wife was diagnosed in 2018 and declared cured in 2023. Along the way, she endured heavy chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant, graft-vs-host disease, and in late 2021, months in the ICU with COVID, including a coma and time on a ventilator.
We walked through all of that without turning to alcohol or drugs.
A life shaped by long-term recovery
My wife recently celebrated more than 38 years of sobriety. I’ve been in recovery for more than 40 years. Our household carries almost 80 years of lived recovery experience.
We met in the program, and that perspective has shaped how I understand both suffering and hope.
Why I created Friendhelp
I created Friendhelp as an on-demand on-ramp to recovery — a practical way to help people begin, and to help the people who love them understand what real support can look like.
I believe recovery is possible for anyone, and that there should be a clearer, calmer path into it. With over 100,000 Americans dying of overdoses, classic recovery alone was failing.
Professional background
Beyond recovery work, I’m also a robotics engineer, inventor, and published author. I’ve worked on technology that helped expand high-speed internet access at scale, and I continue to work on new ideas aimed at solving meaningful problems.
Friendhelp brings those parts of my life together: long-term recovery experience, personal hardship, and a builder’s mindset focused on practical solutions that can genuinely help people.
